Summer Haircut!

Spring has Sprung!!! (I hope)

The kids' newest toy! Its huge!!! They went in yesterday after they got home from thier last day of school. The temp was only 64 degrees but they insisted! The pool was just filled too, so that water was very very COLD! (Its not really green water, not sure why it looks that way)

Which means... I was kicked out of the Air Force unneccessarily.
After 18 years of being told there was nothing that can be done about my face...
After 18 years of being told I absolutely need to stay out of the sun...
After 18 years of avoiding most fun summer time activities...
After 18 years of hiding from cameras...

It was all a bunch of B.S!

I was given some medication that "may help" (after already trying countless different kinds),
but that particular medication causes vision problems...with my current vision problems I dont dare try the medication. I am angry. I am frustrated. And I am bitter.

North Shore Experience

As I have said earlier, my computer has been broken down. I was unable to access any blog sites anywhere. My computer would shut off while taking important tests for school... It was virtually useless to me for such a long long time... So, to get my mind off of that issue, Mark took us to visit Lake Superior's North Shore. I grew up about an hour from Lake Superior but had never gone to see the sights. We went before tourist season began and found reduced rates at an awesome resort/hotel. The place is called Superior Shores in Two Harbors Minnesota. So many friendly people in one spot! We were even allowed to bring Radar along for the weekend!

He was one of the first friendly faces to greet us when we arrived late on friday night.

Look at that chandelier! Have you ever seen anything more amazing?!? That is an elk and I think a caribou watching over the lobby.

A great big stone fireplace welcomed us in from the chilly lake front.

This little guy (the brown furry one) was Radars favorite attraction.

This little bridge was the pathway from the resort to the beach. The kids and I snuck out early in the mornings...we were collecting a whole boxful of agates!

Everywhere we went, we looked at the rocks. We even drove right through one! Amazing!!

This in a bend in the Baptism River. Right around this bend, the river calms and opens into Lake Superior. Very beautiful!

And My Favorite place we went! The Split Rock Lighthouse. It was under construction, being we were two weeks early, we didnt get to tour it, but that just means... We will have to go back!

Anyone out there???

I have missed you all so much! My computer has been having a few "issues". I have battled and battled an inumerable amount of virus'... Ok I didnt do any actual battle, but I did call the computer squad 3 or 4 times! They did get me fixed up some tonight, but apparentally I need some more work with the "level 3" guys. Which may not come for another 24 hours! But, in the mean time, I am able to say hello, Ive been so lonely with out you.

So so so lonely. I am going to have to spend the next few weeks scouring all your blogs so that I can catch up. But I will, I promise I will!

Could it be???

If I wasnt a Northern Minnesota girl I would think spring has arrived! We have the windows opened, clothes hanging on the line, half of us are wearing shorts and summer tops. Also....

The farm animals have started arriving...
Ducks are splashing in open waters...
The bugs are buggin....
Mayflowers are peeking thier sweet heads through the earth...
Grass is turning green....

But, since I do live in Northern Minnesota, I know that all this wonderfulness is just a cruel joke and we could burried in 3 feet of snow by the end of the week. Until then though... I am going to enjoy every drop of sunshine I can get my hands on...Ugly rash or not, sun here I come!

A New Tradition?!?

Y'all remember last year at this time when Miss Danika decided she wanted to get her hair done? She came home looking like this:




This year she said the same dang thing... and I said (because I am super cool and might be up for mom of the year...) "Yes, honey, whatever your little heart desires shall be yours." Then she started talking red halos and black undertones...I did not panic and kept my cool and gently reminded her she was going to be getting a job this summer... I trusted my daughter to do the right thing without needing to squash her creativity. So, while she sat in the beauty shop I stayed out of her way and had my panic attack in private. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to pay for her do and found her looking like this:





Shes all grown up and not a red streak was involved! So, what do you think? Is the color nearly the same as last time?
